The City of Hays’ Police Department is looking for a Communications Lieutenant to lead its Communications Center. Under the supervision of the Chief of Police, this exempt position is responsible for the management of the daily activities of the Communication Center including supervision of subordinates, preparing work schedules, equipment maintenance, budgeting, & operations.
Typical work schedule is Monday-Friday with flexible hours. Occasional weekends and evenings may be required.

Full pay range: $56,939— $84,609 plus excellent benefits including family health insurance, paid time off, Kansas Public Employee Retirement System (KPERS), & longevity bonus.
Possession of Bachelor's degree in a related field of study or equivalent combination of training & experience in a related field is required. Excellent communication, supervisory, organizational, & public relation skills are necessary. Candidates must be able to become certified with the Emergency Medical Dispatch & the National Crime Information Center.
