Introduction Statement:

The Grant County Sheriff’s office is currently accepting applications for the position of Deputy Sheriff. These are full-time positions with an excellent benefit package, Including KPERS retirement plan, paid vacation/sick leave, fully paid family medical insurance and other optional benefits. Equipment and take home vehicle is supplied. This position will include patrolling county areas, enforcing federal, state and local laws and ordinances, securing compliance with traffic violations, conducting criminal and crash investigations. Patrol Deputies must be able to act without direct supervision and to exercise independent judgement in handling emergencies.


Full Time


Wages for non-certified begin at $16.50 hr. Certified applicants salary will depend on experience and qualifications.

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications: No experience is required, however, selected candidates are expected to acquire the necessary information and skills to perform the job reasonably well after six months in this position. Applicants must be 21 years of age or older, a U.S. Citizen, possess a high school diploma or equivalent. Candidates shall not have any Felony, Domestic Violence, or serious misdemeanor convictions, and/or other criminal or civil legal action pending. Must also be of good moral character and have the ability to credibly testify in court.
